Kesgrave Kestrels Football Club
Introduction
We are a community based football club based in Kesgrave, on the eastern side of Ipswich. Our aim is to provide the opportunity for boys and girls to play football and to develop the skills associated with this team sport. We are proud of our heritage – a number of club players have gone on to play for Ipswich Town and other local clubs and Richard Wright, Titus Bramble, Luke Hyam and Billy Clark have all played for the Club during their own development.
We have 25 youth teams and 4 senior teams within the Club for the 2020/21 season, the greatest number we have ever had, ranging from our Little Kestrels for players in school years Reception to Year 2 inclusive, through mini soccer and youth football up to senior football.
Our Little Kestrels group has expanded this season to include all children in reception class regardless of age and we now have 90 places in this group across the three year groups.
Our Wildcats, offering girls only football, continues to grow and we have just formed a new U9 Girls team as a direct result of Wildcats.
Our youth teams play in the Suffolk Youth Football League on Saturday mornings and our girls teams play in the Suffolk Girls and Womens Football League (SGWFL).
Our senior men’s teams play in the The Macron SIL Suffolk and Ipswich League, the Ipswich Sunday Football League and the Norfolk and Suffolk Veterans League.
We are always on the look out for new sponsors, budding coaches and players to join our teams for the new 2021/22 season.
If you are interested in helping the club or just looking to get your son/daughter into the club then please contact the Club Secretary.
If you are interested in adult football then please contact our Adult Secretary.
We use the following venues:
- Gorseland Primary School is a training venue used by a number of Kesgrave Kestrels Youth Teams.
- Heath Primary School is the home ground for our U8s Whites and Blues teams as well as our U12s Town and Blues teams.
- The Kesgrave Community Centre is the home venue for five of our teams - SIL Adults First Team, U9 Girls, U9 Orange, U14s and U16s.
- The Kesgrave High School is the home venue for our Under 11 Kestrels and Town Teams, U12 Kestrels, all Under 13s and both our U13 Girls and U18 Girls. Also for our adult section teams, SIL Reserve team, ISFL Sunday league team and our Sunday Veterans.
- The Millennium Sports Ground is the regular home venue for our mini soccer teams - Under 8s Kestrels and Town, all Under 9s (except Girls and Orange) and all Under 10s.

Little Kickers
Introduction
We have four different football classes each tailored to a different age group.
We believe in something we call “Play not Push”. It means teaching football in a fun, pressure-free environment. We want to give children a positive introduction to sport as a whole, not just football, so they’re more likely to stay healthy and active throughout their lives.
We believe football can be educational. Coached in the right way it can stimulate imagination and aid early development skills such as learning colours and numbers, following instructions and playing as a team.
The classes are:
-
Little Kicks - 18 months to 2 years 6 months - Sundays 09:00-09:45
-
Junior Kickers - 2½ years to 3 ½ years - Sundays 10:00-10:45 14:00-14:45
