Local Grant Award for Museum
Suffolk Aviation Heritage Museum has recently received a welcome boost to its future development in the form of a grant from Sport and Recreation in Kesgrave (SPARK). The substantial award will allow the completion of vital repairs to the roof of the museum building, and will in turn allow completion of the all volunteer project, started in 2005. With the roof work expected to be carried out before winter, attention will then turn to final preparation of the internal display areas prior to full commissioning of the art-based Suffolk Aviation Chronology by around the end of 2015.
Eventually consisting of more than 100 specially produced drawings and paintings, the aviation chronology - believed to be the only one of its kind in the world - will form the centre of the museum collection.
The grant award is a tremendous boost the development of the museum and the founders and members of Suffolk Aviation Heritage Group are hugely thankful to the SPARK Trustees for the level of support received and for the genuine interest taken in the project.
