Sunday Crafts – The following craft activities will be taking place during September (10.00 – 12.00 noon):

Sunday 2nd – Did you miss any crafts during the Summer Reading Challenge that you really wanted to make? This is your chance to complete the one you missed or to remake a favourite;

Sunday 9thIt’s the day of the Summer Reading Challenge presentation. Make a 3D Dennis the Menace to take home and display;

Sunday 16th – Have you ever been on a horse? Make a 3D rocking horse that moves when you touch it;

Sunday 23rd Are you scared of crocodiles? Make a crocodile with an amazing moving mouth;

Sunday 30th – Today we are going Beach Bonkers when the beach is coming into the library! Pop along and make a shark headdress to take home.

Activities are free. Parents must stay with under eights. There’s no need to book – just turn up and have a go.

Free BookStart Sessions – every Thursday.

These are free activities for pre-school children and their parents or carers. Why not come along and join Abby every Thursday for songs, rhymes and poems?

Tot Rock - action rhymes, songs and stories for toddlers - 9.45am – 10.15 am.

BabyBounce – songs and rhymes for babies – 10.30am – 11.00am.

Free Story Time Sessions – every Friday 9.45 – 10.15 a.m. (term time only). This session combines stories and rhymes. All welcome. Why not pop along?

Other Library Events for September 2018

Lego Club Re-Launched - Every Tuesday afternoon (Term Time) 3.45 – 4.45 p.m. We now a volunteer who will lead this activity and each week will be a different theme. What will you design? Parents must stay with under 8s. 11/09 Dragons, 18/09 Vehicles and 25/09 Robots.

Wednesday 19th September Knit and Natter – From 2.30 p.m. £1.00 donation - tea, coffee and biscuits

13/09/2018 – Afternoon Book Group – 2.45 p.m. They are currently reading The Muse by Jessie Burton and When She was Gone by Lisa Jewell.

13/09/2018 – Evening Book Group – 7.00 p.m. They are currently reading 1984 by George Orwell.

If you are interested in joining any of the groups, please ring or speak to a member of staff.

Mischief Makers Presentation – Sunday 9th September. Congratulations to all our borrowers who completed the Summer Reading Challenge this year. This is a fantastic achievement. The staff and volunteers look forward to seeing you all at the presentation, where you will receive your medal and certificate and watch a magic show. The staff would also like to thank SPARK for supporting the reading challenge this year with a grant. Could parents please ensure that they attend the presentation during the times stated on their children’s invitation?

Suffolk Parent Carer Network : Monday 10th September 10.00 – 12.00 noon. Do you have a child or young person with additional needs and/or disabilities? Would you like to have access to resources and events? Pop along to the library and meet the Ambassador from the SPCN, who will be available to offer support and advice on a range of issues.  

Suffolk Police: Tuesday 18th September from 9.30 a.m. We have a member of Suffolk Police visiting us, to distribute crime prevention information to our customers and promote the police scheme that returns your keys to you - Suffolk Safekey. They are also able to answer any questions that you may have about keeping yourselves and your belongings safe. Why not pop along for a chat?

Beach Bonkers: Sunday 30th September 10.00 – 12.00 noon – Have you ever tried beachcombing? Today is the day to visit, as the beach is coming into the library.  Pop along and search for a shark’s or mammoth’s tooth! What other amazing treasures will you find? This is a free activity. No need to book. Just pop along. There will also be a free craft session.
