KESGRAVE LIBRARY NEWS
Sunday Crafts (10 – 12 noon) – The following craft activities will be taking place during October:
Sunday 7th – Design your own monster using a lolly stick and pompom;
Sunday 14th – Did you know you can make a long wiggly snake out of a circle? Pop along and create your own slippery snake to take home;
Sunday 21st – Have you ever won a gold fish at the fair? Make your own gold fish picture to take home today;
Sunday 28th – It’s nearly Halloween. Make a pumpkin collage to decorate your home for Halloween.
Activities are free. Parents must stay with under eights. There’s no need to book – just turn up and have a go.
Free BookStart Sessions – every Thursday.
These are free activities for pre-school children and their parents or carers. Why not come along and join Abby every Thursday for songs, rhymes and poems?
Tot Rock - action rhymes, songs and stories for toddlers - 9.45am – 10.15 am.
BabyBounce – songs and rhymes for babies – 10.30am – 11.00am.
Free Story Time Sessions – every Friday 9.45 – 10.15 a.m. (term time only).
This session combines stories and rhymes. All welcome. Why not pop along?

03/10 & 17/10/2018– Knit and Natter - 2.30 p.m. £1.00 - tea, coffee and biscuits provided. Welcome to all our new members.
04/10/2017 – Afternoon Book Group - 2.45 p.m. They are currently reading The Silence Between Breathes by Cath Staincliffe.
25/10/2017 – Evening Book Group – 7.00 p.m. They are currently reading Then She was Gone by Lisa Jewell.

Lego Club –3.45 – 4.45 p.m. (term time only). Parents must stay with children under eight. Themes for October: 02/10 Gardens, 09/10 Jet Skis 16/10 Lorries and 30/10 Halloween.
IT Help Sessions – There are spaces available from October onwards, if you would like any help with any aspect of IT e.g. using your iPad, e-reader or need guidance downloading e-books from the library catalogue. Please get in touch or speak to a member of staff if you are interested.
Cards for Good Causes – Charity Christmas Cards and Suffolk Wildlife Christmas Cards from Saturday 6th October (during library opening hours) - The festive season gets under way in Kesgrave when the Cards for Good Causes charity Christmas card shop opens in Kesgrave Library on Saturday 6th October. Perfect for those who want to get ahead in their Christmas preparations, while supporting a range of national and local charities, the shop will offer a fantastic range of cards.
The Kesgrave pop-up shop is part of a network of 300 temporary shops running Cards for Good Causes, the UK’s largest multi-charity Christmas card organisation. It represents more than 250 charities including Cancer Research UK, Barnardo’s, NSPCC, Alzheimer’s Society and RNLI.
There will also be a selection available from the Suffolk Wildlife Fund. The sale of ever card also helps support your local library. Why not pop along and see the selection of cards available?
100 Club – Our Community Group has launched a 100 Club, to help with fund-raising and we have nearly 70 people who have signed up. For just £1.00 per month you could enter and have a chance of winning a cash prize plus knowing you are supporting your local library.
Used Stamps/coins – Can you help? – To help raise funds for St Elizabeth’s Hospice. Just bring them along and hand in to staff – it’s as easy as that!
