Sunday Crafts

The following craft activities will be taking place during November (10.00 – 12.00 noon):

Sunday 3rd The 5th of November is Bonfire Night. Design a firework collage to take home and display;

Sunday 10thToday is Remembrance Sunday. Create a poppy field picture;

Sunday 17th Have you watched Toy Story 4? Pop along and make Forky;

Sunday 24thHave you ever seen a peacock? We are using old CDs to create peacocks today.

Activities are free. Parents must stay with under eights. There’s no need to book – just turn up and have a go.

 

Free BookStart Sessions – every Thursday including all School Holidays

These are free activities for pre-school children and their parents or carers. Why not come along and join Jean every Thursday for songs, rhymes and poems?

Tot Rock - action rhymes, songs and stories for toddlers - 9.45am – 10.15 am.

BabyBounce – songs and rhymes for babies – 10.30am – 11.00am.

 

Story Time Sessions – every Friday 9.45 – 10.15 a.m. including half-term.

This session combines stories and rhymes. All welcome. Why not pop along?

 

Other Library Events for November 2019

Lego Club - Every Tuesday afternoon (Term Time) 3.45 – 4.45 p.m. We now a volunteer who will lead this activity and each week will be a different theme. What will you design? Parents must stay with under 8s. 05/11 Library of the future 12/11 Poppies 19/11 Tanks and 26/11 Helicopters.

Wednesday 6th and 20th November Knit and Natter – From 2.30 p.m. £1.00 donation - tea, coffee and biscuits provided. New members very welcome. You don’t need to knit, just pop along for a cup of tea and a natter.

07/11/2019 – Afternoon Book Group - 2.45 p.m. They are currently reading The Huntingfield Paintress by Pamela Holmes.

18/11/2019 – IT Drop In sessions 9.30 – 12.00 noon. Need some help with some aspect of IT? Pop along and see a member of staff, who will be pleased to help.

22/11/2019 – Evening Book Group – 7.00 p.m. They are currently reading The Colour of Magic by Terry Pratchett.

25/11 - MacMillan Cancer Support Mornings 9.30 – 11.30 a.m. – Once a month the library is holding a group for those suffering with cancer and their carers. This group is an opportunity to meet others, chat and offer each other support. Leaflets offering advice will be available. Coffee, tea and biscuits will also be provided. Just pop along, if you would like to attend. We now have a very experienced volunteer, who worked for Macmillan, helping to run this session. 

If you are interested in joining any of the groups, please ring or speak to a member of staff.

 

Cards for Good Causes – Charity Christmas Cards /Suffolk Wildlife and Somersham Ward Christmas Cards from Saturday 5th October (during library opening hours)

The festive season gets under way in Kesgrave when the Cards for Good Causes charity Christmas card shop opens on Saturday 5th October. Perfect for those who want to get ahead in their Christmas preparations, while supporting a range of national and local charities, including your local library where every sale benefits us. Christmas stamps will also be available once released.

IT Help Sessions

There are spaces available from November onwards, if you would like any help with any aspect of IT e.g. using your iPad, e-reader or need guidance downloading e-books from the library catalogue. Please get in touch or speak to a member of staff if you are interested.

Scout Post Box

This will be at Kesgrave Library from Monday 25th November – Tuesday 10th December. The cost this year is 30p per card.
