Sunday Crafts (10 – 12 noon)

The following craft activities will be taking place during February:

Sunday 3rd – The animal for the Chinese New Year is a pig. Pop along and make one to help celebrate;  

Sunday 10th – Make a Love Bug for Valentine’s Day on the 14th of February;

Sunday 17th – The birds will soon be returning after their winter holidays abroad. Design a pair of binoculars, to help you view them in the garden;

Sunday 23rd – Create a paper chain snake to decorate your room. What colour will you chose?

Activities are free. Parents must stay with under eights. There’s no need to book – just turn up and have a go.

Tot Rock - 9.45am – 10.15 am.

BabyBounce - 10.30am – 11.00am - Tea & Coffee


Free Story Time Sessions – every Friday 9.45 – 10.15 a.m. (term Time Only). This session combines stories and rhymes. All welcome. Why not pop along?


Other Library Events for February 2019

Every Tuesday afternoon (Term Time) 3.45 – 4.45 p.m. Lego Club. Parents must stay with under 8s. The themes this month are 05/02 – Chinese New Year Animals, 12/02 – Bugs, 26/02 – Cartoon Characters. No need to book. Just pop along!  This is a free activity.

06/02 and 20/02/2019 – Knit and Natter - 2.30 p.m. £1.00 - tea, coffee provided. Welcome to all new members.

07/02/2019 – Afternoon Book Group - 2.45 p.m. They are currently reading The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George.

Date to be confirmed – Evening Book Group – 7.00 p.m.

New for February 2019

Second Monday morning of the month – 11/02 – Sofa Storytime 10.00-11.00 a.m. – Do you enjoy sharing stories? These sessions are designed for parents and carers to pop along to, to read a variety of books and afterwards, allow children to interact and play while you have a coffee and a chat. This month’s theme is Winnie the Pooh and Friends.

Third Monday morning of the month – 18/02 – IT Drop In sessions 9.30 – 12.00 noon – Are you having problems getting your CV sorted or do you need some help with setting up an email address to be able to apply for jobs online? The library staff are holding an IT drop in session to help. Just pop along on this date and speak to the staff.

Lego Afternoons 3.00 – 5.00 p.m.– On Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st of February. We have two Lego afternoons. Earlier this month it was Harry Potter Night. Pop along and create Hogwarts or one of the mystical creatures that are in the books. This is a free event but we will be holding a raffle to raise funds for the library.

Get Connected Event - Saturday 23rd February 10.00 – 12.00 noon Are you having trouble with your e-reader or iPad or are interested in using Suffolk Libraries amazing digital offer which includes e-books, e-audio books, 60 magazine titles, daily newspapers to download and read plus music but not sure how to get going? Pop along to the library during the above times, and a member of staff will be on hand to help you set up for tablet.

All you need to be able to access these fantastic products are, a library card. Don’t have one? Just bring in proof of name and address e.g. driving license or utility bill and we can sign you up straight away, to enable you to access our e-library as well as use all the libraries in Suffolk.

Fourth Monday morning of the month – 25/02- MacMillan Cancer Support Coffee Mornings 10.00 onwards – Once a month the library is holding a group for those suffering with cancer and their carers. This group is an opportunity to meet others, chat and offer each other support. Leaflets offering advice will be available. Coffee, tea and biscuits will also be provided. Just pop along on the 28th January, if you would like to attend.
