It is with much sadness that the East Anglian Brass Band Association reports the passing of Dianne Hastings on Thursday 8th November. At her time of death Dianne was Life Vice–President of the East Anglian Brass Band Association. Dianne had been Secretary of the Association for over 42 years until her retirement in 2015 following a stroke. Dianne and her late husband Brian worked tirelessly for brass bands and their members in East Anglia. In recognition of their work in 2002 Dianne and Brian were honoured to be invited to the Royal Garden Party at Sandringham as part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations.
For many years Dianne was an active member of the London & Southern Regional Committee.
Dianne passed away with a DVD of Brass In Concert on listening to a performance by Fodens Band.
Paying tribute Dianne’s daughter Christine (Secretary of East Anglian Brass Band Association) said “We are all very sad at the sudden loss of Mum. Mum was a hard act to follow when I became Secretary following her retirement. Mum was never a player but her many years of hard work and commitment to brass players and brass bands was amazing”.
The funeral service will take place at St. Andrew's Church, Rushmere St. Andrew on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at 12 noon, followed by interment at
Rushmere St. Andrew Lawn Cemetery.
The funeral reception will take place at Greshams, 312 Tuddenham Road, Ipswich, IP4 3QJ.
